Put the Breeze to Work with Wind Spinners

Wind spinners and wind chimes are two exciting ways of using the breeze which is in such plentiful supply in this country! Get ready to greet gusty days with glee with our selection of kinetic creations.

From the tinkle of glass to the mellow notes of bamboo pipes, there is a sound to please everyone in our range of wind chimes. And with an enormous array of designs, there’s a look to suit every garden too.

Wind Spinners

Since the spring seems to have deserted us, why not let the meditative resonance of bamboo from the Hibiscus Natural Chime transport you to a faraway tropical beach? At least it will sound like summer is coming!

Or, if you want a more energising sound, take a look at our lovely recycled glass collection. These colourful decorations sparkle in the light as well as tinkling merrily in the breeze and are sure to bring cheer to any garden. Available in leaf, fish, rectangle and squiggle shapes, the glass is frost proof, so they can stay outside all year round.

Alternatively, a well-placed wind spinner can bring sparkle and movement to a dark corner. These elegant wind dancers turn gracefully on a breath of breeze, catching the light as they spin. Check out the mesmerising Double Nova or Butterfly, both crafted in rustproof stainless steel to make sure they keep their shine.

The gusts seem to be with us to stay, so why not try to catch the wind?

Dancing Wind Chimes is a Sweet Ornament For Garden Decoration

I have always loved Garden Decoration and Wind Chimes by Woodstock Chimes was what I coveted most, back in 1992! I am so proud to that we at Home to Garden carry the Woodstock Chimes line of beautiful hand-tuned chimes. Wind Chimes are the Grandaddy of garden decoration and have been part of Eastern culture for thousands of years.

Garden Decorations can enhance any area of your garden. Fences can be decorated with mirrors or stainless shapes that become reflecting pools of all the colour in the garden and adding a feel of extra depth to the area. Wind sculptures bring the unseen element of air movement alive as do wind chimes and brightly colored flags. Hanging Crystals catch the sunlight and turn walls and patio pavements into rainbow polka dotted landscapes!

There are practical uses for Garden Decorations, as they are used widely in Sensory Gardens at schools for disabled children and in Hospices for the terminally ill. For the disabled they provide stimulation of the senses. For terminally ill patients they provide relief from the confines of being indoors and the static environment of being confined mostly to bed. At Home to Garden, we donate many of our products to schools and hospices that want to provide outdoor Sensory Gardens for their patients and students who are in schools for the disabled and are wheel chair bound.

There is so much choice now, in the sector of garden decoration, one could turn their garden into a vertible Dysneyland! This may appeal to some and would certainly be a hit with the children or anyone who is very young at heart!  Really though, just a few well chosen pieces, whether  a beautiful wind chime or wind sculpture, reflecting mirrors, glass rainbow bubbles, will be all the focal points needed to bring a wonderful sense of interest and vitality to your garden.

New selection of Wind Chimes

We have just expanded our range of Wind Chimes by adding many more new types and designs of chimes. Especially popular are the Bamboo Wind Chimes which have been handmade to the highest standard in Indonesia.
Bamboo wind chimes are constructed from suspended bamboo tubes and bell shaped gongs. They have been used in several shapes and sizes throughout the centuries to decorate gardens and produce soothing and meditative sounds.

Wind chimes are usually placed outside in the garden, on patios, or inside a conservatory. The smaller chimes can be hanged inside the house in kid’s rooms, or by the window, where the wind can make them move and chime!
Our glass chimes are made from recycled and frost proof glass hand cut in Poland and Far East. The glass chimes make unique and beautiful sounds as the wind makes them gently move.

Not sure where to hang your wind chime? Many of our customers choose to hang wind chimes by their entrance where their delightful tune greets each and every visitor. Alternatively you can put your wind chime by a window and let the breeze bring them to life whenever the window is open

Wind Chimes make a fantastic present for the coming Christmas. They are packed in gift boxes and can be gift wrapped for you, so they become the idea gift solution.

Behind the Hedgerow

The clocks have gone back, the afternoons darken so early and as I write the rain is lashing against the window, Winter is on its way. Our office is filling up with all sorts of Christmas gifts and gifts for the garden. Please take a moment to click on our latest staked Wind Sculptures, the Ballerina and the Pinwheel on the Wind Sculpture page. These are two wonderful wind dancers, unique and mesmerising! They both would make a delightful Christmas gift for anyone who finds kinetic wind sculptures both fun and fascinating. I am a real fan of them, I love the way they interact with the elements. It is not just the wind but because we use stainless steel, the sun reflects and sparkles off the shiny surface, bouncing light off the ground and walls! It is beautiful!

Another product that comes into it’s own in the winter is the Rainbow Bubble which one will find on a frosty morning, has turned into a giant pearl! The way we have had the glass blown and splashed with iridescence on the crown creates a milky opalescence effect that is enchanting. It is gratifying to know that our Rainbow Bubbles, gazing balls, tealight holders are all mouth blown using 100% recycled vodka bottles!

We have many other new products for winter, a large selection of solar decoration and lights, Fun and whimsical christmas decorations made from natural, organic material,
treats for gardeners, and bathing products to soak away the cold with.

The light and the colour at this time of year have a soft muted palette, there is still gold in the trees, the berries are brightening, and many shades of green and brown surround us in Chorleywood. It is as if nature is holding her breath for but a moment before winter truly arrives.
